Pittsburgh Proposal on Mount Washington
Bennett & Eleni
-April 28th 2018-
There is just something about a proposal that makes me weak at the knees! I cannot get enough of this. Being able to witness the moment when two people decide to spend the rest of their lives together is a privilege. I was ecstatic when I was asked to be a part of this surprise engagement. When I first spoke with Bennett about his plans to ask High school sweetheart Eleni to be his wife I knew he wanted it to be special and perfect.
THE PLAN! Bennett convinced Eleni that they were on their way to a lunch BUT first he wanted to take a stroll along Mount Washington. He wanted to propose on one of the outlooks. When my husband and I arrived, we were happy to see that there were a lot of people photographing the view, so we fit right in. TOURIST MODE! But the viewpoint that he wanted to meet was very crowed! I reached out to Bennett to tell him the situation and he said no problem. If it was overly crowded Bennett would casually walk to another outlook that was vacant. The plan had changed! No problem, we thrive under pressure.
THE PROPOSAL! We were on our toes trying to spot Bennett, who informed me he would be wearing a navy blazer. The time had come… we spotted them and away we went. He did indeed skip the original landing and moved on to another. My husband (who is my partner is crime) and I casually followed them down the street. When I say casually I mean constantly reminding the other one to act natural while awkwardly smiling at each other. I could feel Bennett’s excitement from across the road. He strolled across the street to a unfilled overlook. This was it. All this planning and plotting boiled down to this one moment. We could see him holding her hands and we could tell he was winding up for the big moment. According to Bennett this was long overdue. Even though they have been together close to 8 years this is still one of the most pivotal moments of a person’s life. Well for us hopeless romantics it is! Then I could see THE LOOK on her face. The look when she realized what was happening. Down on one knee he went! SHE SAID YES. It couldn’t have been more picture-perfect. It was nice to finally meet them in person! We snapped a couple post Engagement shots and went on our way! We wish them a lifetime of happiness and of course I am so happy we were there to capture it all!
